Providing Events Information

Use the Events Information page to determine when and how your update is delivered to the end user.

In the Upload download behavior section, select one of the following:

Present to user for download—Select this option to enable your end user to determine when they will download the update.

Download first, then present to user—Select this option to automatically and silently deploy the update in the background before alerting your end user of the update with an update message.

Optionally specify a callout file—either a DLL or a Java archive (JAR)—to be downloaded and executed prior to downloading your notification.

In the next section, select the events that will deliver your updates. Update events enable you to customize when an update is delivered to your end users.

Determine if you want this update to be part of a group of updates (chained) to be downloaded and installed simultaneously.

Note

If you select Yes, then the user interface of the installation will be suppressed. Therefore, verify that your installation can be run without user input and can be installed with other updates.

Click Next. This opens the Schedule the Update page.
